Where to Promote
Knowing where to promote is important to
success on the Internet. Here are some useful information that may
assist you in promoting 'The Internet Money Machine'.
1. Email Signature
This is the easiest way to get
your website noticed. Most people now communicate through email and
I am sure you will be able to benefit by including an email
signature at the end of your messages. An email signature is a short
text write up of your website that is included at the end of all
your email messages. These are normally 3 to 6 liners and should be
able to attract the attention of the readers.
These are the details to include:
Example:
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>><<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<
A “Cappuccino” a day keeps the NEGATIVE
away!

2. Email Marketing
Email is the cheapest and fastest mode
of communication today. The cost is merely the cost of your ISP and
you can send out thousands of messages at the click of a mouse.
The first thing to do is to get an
email account. If you have your own domain name, than you will be
able to use it as your email address. Your hosting company will
normally provide you will “aliases” that you can set up. For example
if your domain name is abc.com then your email address could be
anything@abc.com
There are two types of email accounts:
The web based email accounts are
normally free but with limited space capacity
( usually 2 to 6 Meg) and carries
advertisements of the sponsors.
Here are some free email accounts that
you can check out:

How to send 'bulk emails'?
One way is to send using the CC or BCC
function of your email account. The most popular method is by using
Group Mail softwares. There are many in the market but the most
popular one is INFACTA. You can get a Free Trail version that is
limited to 100 emails and upgrade later should you find it useful.
Here is the website to check out:

3. Banners
Banners will help put
your ad directly in front of your targeted market. These are visual
representations that encourages visitors to click on it to be
transferred to you website.
There are many tools for creating your
own banners. If you are familiar with Adobe Illustrator or Adobe
Photoshop you can create your own banner from scratch. However, for
most of us who are not familiar, there are various free programs
that provide templates that we could use. Here are some that you
could check out:
http://www.addesigner.com
http://www.onlineanimation.com
http://www.quickbanner.com
You will normally need to pay to place
your banner on various high traffic sites. These are usually charged
based on CPM (cost per thousand impressions). There are also the
“pay per visitor” and “pay per click” method of advertising that are
not as popular because of the higher cost involved.
To find out more about banner ads, you
can check out at:
http://www.bannertips.com
You can also take part in free banner
exchange. You put some third party banner on your own website and in
return your banner will appear on other sites. One of the most
popular banner exchange program is BannersGoMlm. They provide you
with templates to design your own banner and provide you with a
generous 1:1 exchange. Your banner will appear once when someone’s
banner appear once on your site. Here is the link:

4. FFA
These are Free For All
sites that allow you to post your ads for free. There are literally
thousands of these sites on the net. Previously it was a good way of
advertising your site; however, it is no longer useful due to the
following reasons:
-
There are too many of these sites
around.
-
The availability of bulk submission
makes it easy to send your ads to most of these FFA sites. Most
people are only interested in posting and do not take the time to
read the ads being posted.
However, since it is free to post and
you can use some free bulk posting services to post your ads to
thousands of sites with the click of the mouse, it will still be
able to generate you some free traffic. Make sure the subject line
will create curiosity and change it regularly. Expect to receive a
lot of emails back from the people who hosted these sites. I would
suggest that you use a different email address just for these
postings.
World Submitter is one of the best bulk
submission services available on the internet. You can use their
free posting service and have the option to upgrade later. Here is
the link to check it out:

worth looking at:

5. Mirror FFA Site
This technique is
becoming very popular. Rather than posting to the FFA sites, you
host your own FFA sites and allow others to post to your sites. When
people post to your sites, they are granting you permission to send
a confirmation message to them. This is how you can discretely send
your sales message to them.
There are many FFA sites that allow you
to host your own FFA site for a small monthly fee of less than
US$20.00. Some of these companies also include other features like
tracking software, autoresponder, training materials, etc.
There are two ways you can send your
confirmation emails to those who posted to your site:
-
The FFA host will send it for you
through their own servers. This is the “set it and forget”
technology. All you need to do is set up your message and
determine when you want the message to be sent out. You have the
option to change it anytime. Your messages will be sent out
automatically for you.
For further information here are a few
good FFA hosts that you can check out:

Incidentally one of the best material
and program on Mirror FFA site is that by Stan Stuchinski. For those
interested you can find out more at:

6. Classified Ads
There are thousands of classified ads
site on the Internet. These are like advertisements in the yellow
pages or offline classified ads. Most of these sites allow free
postings. Just like the FFA it not that responsive as there are now
bulk submission softwares that makes posting easy. You can check out
some of these Classified Ad sites by making a search with the search
engines. Just type “Free Classified Ads” in the search box of any
search engines and you will be able to get some good selections.
Posting manually can be a very tedious
process. As mentioned there are many bulk submission softwares
available. To my opinion one of the best is that provided by
Becanada.com. Check it out at:
http://www.becanada.com/$/?quek05@hotmail.com
With this software you can post to
hundreds of Classified Ad sites with the press of a button. The
software is updated regularly to include new sites and it is all
included in the single purchase price.
7. Ezines Ad
Ezines are newsletters that are
transmitted via email. There are thousands of ezines for all
subjects and topics available and some of these ezines permit
limited Free Ads in every issues of their ezines. You will need to
subscribe to their ezine in order to post.
There are also paid ads that are offered
by most ezines. The cost will depend on the type of ads :
-
Solo Ad
-
Top sponsor ad
-
Middle sponsor ad
-
Bottom sponsor ad
The solo ad is the most expensive
because your ad will be the only ad that will be circulated to the
whole data base of subscribers to the ezine. The cost will also
depend on the size of the subscribers’ base. The bigger the number
of subscribers, the more exposure your ad will receive and therefore
the higher will be the cost.
When advertising on the net, it is
important to select your targeted or niche market. Look for
an ezine that is closely related to what you are promoting. For
example if you are promoting a business opportunity then you should
select an ezine consisting of opportunity seekers.
For a listing of ezines you can check
out at:
http://www.ezine-universe.com
http://www.dominis.com
For more information you can type
“ezines” in the search box of any search engines. To have better
information of how these ezines work and to have some helpful tips
and tools you can check out TopEzineAds at:

8. Renting Opt-In-Email List
There are companies that rent out a list
of email addresses to you for your ad campaign. These companies will
have a huge data base of email addresses of people who opt-in to
receive messages from others. Normally the company will pay these
surfers for their services.
Renting these lists could cost you
between 5 cents to 20 cents per deliverable message. When using this
list ensure that the company is a reputable company that obtain
their email addresses from legal and ethical source. It is possible
for anyone to harvest thousands of email addresses with email
harvester softwares.
Remember to include a disclaimer to
avoid from being accused of SPAM.
Here is a sample that you could use:
"This message is in full compliance
with U.S. Federal requirements for commercial email under bill
S.1618 Title lll, Section 301, Paragraph (a)(2)(C) passed by the
105th U.S. Congress and cannot be considered SPAM since it includes
a remove mechanism. Further transmissions by the sender may be
stopped at no cost to you by sending an email to the email address
(Your email address) ' REMOVE ' in the subject line.
We practice responsible mailing by
honoring all remove requests, following all U.S. laws, and oppose
spamming."
Here is a list of Rent-a-List companies
that are more reputable:

http://www.yesmail.com
http://www.e-target.com
http://www.focalex.com

9. Newsgroups
These are Online Forums set up by
individuals in order to share their views and opinions on specific
topic or subject. Users post and respond to messages through
“Usenet” – worldwide network of discussion groups organized into
categories and sub categories.
These newsgroups are normally hosted for
free by Yahoo, Topica and Smartgroup. To find out more information,
make a search in Yahoo under “newsgroups”.
This is not a productive way of
generating traffic to your site since these are merely forums where
people exchange their views and opinions. Of course in order to post
your ad you will need to join their newsgroup. Some of these
e-groups are moderated and you are not allowed to make any posting.
If you decide to give this strategy a try, my advice is to
concentrate on the larger newsgroups.
There are some companies that provide
services and softwares that allow you to post to millions of people
a day for a small fee. These are normally a waste of time. However,
I came across a company that provides you more than just posting to
newsgroup. They provide posting to Safelists, and FFA. They also
provide you with loads of resources including softwares, ebooks,
articles and reports for a one time fee. If you are interested to
find out more here is the link:
http://www.marketingparadise.com
10. SafeLists
These are opt-in emails and very
popular. Members join the list on condition that they are allowed to
post their ads and they in turn agree to receive ads from others.
Some of these safelists can be quite responsive provided your
subject line is attractive and changes regularly. There is no worry
of SPAM as everyone on the list has agreed to receive messages from
others. You do not need any Bulk Email software for this since you
can post from their website and through their own servers.
Most of these safe lists are free to
join but the features are very limited and posting is allowed
normally once a week. You can opt for the paid version for a small
one time fee or on a monthly basis. Here are some of the responsive
safe lists that I have come across:

11. Purchase of Leads
There are many companies on the internet
that advertise and source for leads to sell to those who need
quality leads. These prospects have requested for information and
will therefore be more responsive. These leads will normally have
the following details:
-
Name
-
Address
-
Email Address
-
Telephone number
It will cost you between 30 cents to 60
cents per lead. With the telephone numbers, you will be able to do
prospecting by phone. These leads company will normally replace any
email addresses that are not delivered.

useful tools and resources so that I may include it here.
